Kitchen Remodeling Do’s and Don’ts:

Kitchen Make overs, do’s and don’ts when you’re selling your home.

Many remodeling jobs can be DIY (Do-It-Yourself) Projects but when it comes to kitchens you may want to consider talking to a pro before you dive in head first and have nowhere to cook for the next 3 months…it’s not a fun place to be.

Don’t go nuts with the Refinance! Keep in mind how much you can recoup from home improvements and you’ll help keep yourself from getting backed into a corner when you go to sell.

Keep those trends in mind! Unless your home is going for that “Retro” look I wouldn’t recommend putting in avocado counter tops  and appliances or putting the beautiful mustard shag flooring in the bedroom.  Keep up on current trends and make sure you stay “mid-stream” to attract the most buyers you can.

It’s all about space! Turning your small kitchen into a larger one may be a don’t for your home, but it all depends on space.  A large kitchen is great but not if you have to lose the living room and a bedroom to do it.

So keep in mind that there are a lot of things that you may just want to turn over to a professional but for more about these Do’s and Don’ts check out: http://styledstagedsold.blogs.realtor.org/2012/12/24/kitchen-remodeling-the-dos-and-donts-of-improving-resale-value/
